Hôtel-Dieu - Hospices de Beaune 2026 - MOUVEMENT(S) [CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP] Plumes & Archives
About
Try your hand at palaeography and calligraphy using the Hôtel-Dieu archives to discover the site's nearly 600-year hospital history in detail. Pore over 15th-century parchments to decipher the handwriting, examine 17th-century illuminated drop caps under a magnifying glass, or study 18th-century administrative registers. Deciphered it all? Now it is your turn to pick up the pen: choose an excerpt from the archives you have explored and copy it out in the style of the old scribes.
