Compagnie À Kan la Dériv’
This is the story of Basile, a child with an overflowing, sometimes cumbersome imagination, who faces the reality of his first day at school. For Basile, everything is an excuse to play and dream: his cup of hot chocolate? A spyglass! His dad's tie? A sword!
From home to school, via the street and the playground, Basile often finds himself in difficulty, his tendency to repurpose everyday objects sparking various reactions, not always positive.
Set amongst wooden cubes, puppets bring this major milestone in his life to the stage across eight scenes, like eight different hours of the day.
Anthony Diaz, with great delicacy and humour, touches on the learning and attention difficulties of a child with specific learning differences ("dys"), while highlighting the power of the imagination and the richness that can be found in difference.
direction, writing, construction and set design Anthony Diaz, acting and puppetry Anastasia Puppis and Vincent Varène, alternating with Zoé Poutrel and Camille Thomas, music composition Alice Huc, dramaturgy Amel Banaïssa
